Sales

Printemps Group places a large focus on sales careers. Serving as our first-line brand ambassadors, our sales teams play critical roles in the quality of the shopping experiences we offer. Their ambition is to create a unique and unforgettable moment for each and every customer.

Purchasing

The Purchasing teams’ mission is to identify and buy the most appealing fashion, luxury and beauty products for our customers. They are organised across various market segments ranging from Accessories, Women's Fashion, Men's Fashion to Beauty and Home. The Purchasing Department has two main responsibilities—build the offer and negotiate the partnership terms with more than 3,500 brands.

Digital CRM & e-business

We aim to offer our customers an omnichannel experience. The online business therefore represents a major strategic focus for the Group. This ambition is led by Placedestendances.com, Citadium.com and madeindesign.com. Our digital teams combine many different skills—digital marketing, web development, photography, web design, e-business offering and web logistics.

 

 

Marketing, communication & merchandising

Designing the positioning of our brands, developing brand awareness and traffic, nurturing the image of the House, creating a unique shopping experience: these are the main missions of the marketing and communications teams.

Within the Marketing and Communications Department and in the stores, the artistic and merchandising teams are the guarantors of Printemps' image on all our in-store and out-of-store communication media. Their mission? To guarantee the coherence of our overall image with a view to commercial performance.

Supply and Logistics

These teams define, manage and optimise Printemps Group’s supply chain on a daily basis. Their challenge is to ensure that the supply chain increases the performance of the company as well as adding value to our customers’ shopping experience.
The Supply team ensures the availability of products at stores, maintaining a solid relationship with our suppliers, as well as with Purchasing, Sales and Logistics. The Logistics team manage product flows and stock while ensuring cost optimisation.

Thomas, Supplier

With a BTS in Accounting/Management, I started at Printemps as a seasonal sales student. In 2005, I officially joined the company as an accountant. After 7 years and two different positions in the Administrative and Financial Department, I was transferred to the position of Assistant Purchaser, before being appointed Purchaser in 2015. My past experience was a real asset in my mobility. Knowing how the store and accounting work helps me to understand the issues and find the most appropriate solutions on a day-to-day basis.
"In charge of flows, I have to guarantee product availability and stock management for Printemps in my area". 
We take part in building budgets with the purchasing teams and decide together on the quantities to buy. I'm then responsible for listing and monitoring deliveries to the warehouse, then to stores, right through to the end of the product's life (sales, other sales channels, etc.). On a day-to-day basis, I liaise with numerous internal players (distribution center, stores, accounting, purchasing, etc.) and manage relations with over 120 suppliers. Over the year, this represents more than 700 orders, over 90% of which are placed in Europe.

A company where people come first. Many convivial events, both formal and informal, mean that we form close-knit teams within the company. What stands out for all newcomers is the systematic way we speak in codes. It's like our own language. For example, each transaction has a name in SAP (the tool we use to manage flows and stocks), and the different sites are hidden behind a series of letters and numbers. Printemps Haussmann, for example, becomes M001. A helping hand to take! 
"The job of Purchaser naturally requires a good head for figures, but also a great deal of rigor to adapt to peaks in activity." 
Team spirit and mutual support are also very important. My advice? Have the desire to succeed and give yourself the means to do so! 

Jessie, Citadium Purchasing Manager

I've had an atypical career, from the hotel business to purchasing and procurement. I obtained a BTS in hotel and catering and started my career as a stock manager. I joined Printemps de Parly 2 3 years ago as a Sales Assistant, with the additional task of monitoring incoming and outgoing flows via SAP retail store. I then moved to Printemps head office as a Sourcing Assistant for the men's market, where I was trained in SAP retail production and Excel. After a year and a half, I became a procurement manager for women's fashion and fashion accessories at Citadium.
"I'm responsible for store layout and post-implementation analysis."
My missions focus on store layout, inventory management and tracking goods in store, from placing orders to checking deliveries. I'm also in charge of post-implementation analysis, including stock life monitoring and restocking, as well as sales analysis. Not forgetting supplier returns at the end of the season. I have a lot of good memories. The last one was broadcasting the World Cup matches. There was a Citadium family spirit and we were all together, all departments included. 
"Printemps, in a word, is family. But if you ask me about Citadium, I'd say the same thing."
In reality, Citadium is more about being united and always moving forward with new ideas. This takes the form of unifying moments where we can communicate and share our ideas. "My advice: the only limits you have are the ones you set for yourself". A lot of things are being put in place, so it's important to take advantage of them. The Printemps group offers many opportunities and, if you're interested, you should discuss them. For example, there are "vis ma vie" (live my life) programs that are accessible and enable you to see a profession. You have to seize projects and collaborate with other departments, have a global vision and multiply your contacts.  When I was discussing my career aspirations with my former manager at Parly 2, she said something that will always stay with me:
"The only limits we have are the ones we set ourselves".

INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The Information Systems teams define the IT strategy, and provide technical support, maintenance and training. They anticipate the Group’s operational needs and fulfil them by proposing effective solutions.

 

 

Job examples within the DSI teams

Marilynn, BI Manager

 
I have a BAC+5 in food processing. I first worked for a few years for an SS2i, and one of my last projects was an assignment for Printemps. It was following this assignment that I joined the Group. Initially, I held the position of BI Project Manager, then I was involved in the implementation of the SAP ERP before taking up the position of BI Manager within the IT teams.
"As head of the BI team, my mission is to provide decision-support tools for the various players in the company."
To do this, we need to collect, consolidate, model and render all the data from the various information systems to give decision-makers and operational staff an overview of the business. The data collected includes retail and digital transactions, merchandise information (stocks, budgets, orders, products, etc.), customer data and logistics flows. In addition to this diversity of information, the data lake in which the data is stored provides a great depth of history. The data is made available in the form of reports and dashboards, in either summary or detailed form, depending on user expectations. We use resources that are essential to the business, for example, to analyze the results of a sales operation.

 

I manage 2 teams, one of which is responsible for collecting and modeling data, and the other for rendering this data, including formatting reports, calculating KPIs, and so on. My department is made up of people who are open to our customers' businesses, and we have the opportunity to work with virtually all the company's business units. We also exchange information either with decision-makers for cross-functional, consolidated reports, or with operational teams (buyers, suppliers, management controllers, sales managers, the distribution center, etc.) for more concrete, detailed reports.

From a topical point of view, we are very much involved in the company's strategic projects, for which our users need to track results. For example, we are contributing to the drive to offer our customers an omnichannel experience, which requires, among other things, a unified base of IT tools and reports enabling us to track the flow of our products and our customers' purchases.

"I started working there as a technician and after being given the opportunity to progress within the company I was able to secure a position as IT support manager."
It's been almost 3 years since I joined Printemps, but before that I spent 18 years with an insurance brokerage company.
I started working there as a technician, and after having had the opportunity to progress within the company I was able to obtain a position as IT support manager.
After 18 years, I wanted to move into a different world, and being able to work in retail was a real breath of fresh air.
"I'm in charge of office automation and IT support"
I'm in charge of the office automation division, in charge of IT support via the management of our outsourcer who runs our call center as well as the local technicians who intervene on a daily basis.
I'm also in charge of managing the fleet of copiers and printers, as well as our ticket creation tool.
Finally, I'm also in charge of the cell phone fleet and I'm involved in office automation projects.
What I like most about my job is the relationships I get to have with the people in the company, and the diversity of subjects I get to deal with.
Finding solutions to specific business needs and providing a quality service are particularly motivating aspects of my day-to-day work.
I hate routine and particularly enjoy working on a wide variety of subjects.

FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION & LEGAL 

These teams provide day-to-day legal and financial support to the other operational departments. They also play a major advising role for the leadership team. They are split into the Finance, Audit, Management Accounting and Legal teams.

 

Human Resources

The Human Resources teams' role is to help deploy the Group's strategy by implementing efficient solutions that allow our employees to reach their full potential. They are also responsible for hiring and developing the talents that will contribute to Printemps' growth.

 

ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING & MAINTENANCE  

These teams are constantly striving to provide our customers with an exceptional shopping environment. They carry out renovation programs to improve our existing stores, and pilot the opening of our new stores.
